What is THE GATE?
The Gate is one of the friendliest churches in the Tucson area! Everyone is welcome: friends, family, cowboys, western folk, or any other type of person that loves to hear about the gospel in a casual church atmosphere. We are not stuck up and we think that red meat is A-ok! (but we like our vegetables too) We don't mind if you have a Big truck or a small car. Along with a life committed to our Savior, we think personal responsibility is part of improving ourselves and our city!
The Gate leadership believes that we are all better together!

David and Gretchen Willard
David and Gretchen Willard are native Arizonans and are very familiar with the culture and people of Tucson. Originally calling the hills of Greenlee county home, the couple met at the University of Arizona and majored in the business field. The entire Willard family are, without any debate, “radical” Arizona Basketball fans. Better than this, the couple are fans of bringing the Gospel to the people of Tucson! The couple has four children who are excited about helping their parents grow a new church in their hometown! David is an ordained minister and Gretchen is a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God.
David & Gretchen have recenlty been staff pastors at Churchplace of Scottsdale and were teaching leaders at Victory Worship Center of Tucson in the marriage and family ministry. They have co-authored three books on the victorious Christian life and look forward to meeting YOU!
Gabriel and Maria Lobato
Reverends' Gabriel and Maria Lobato are both credentialed ministers and have a heart to serve our youngest church members! Gabe and Maria were installed as pastors in January of 2017 and are excited to help teach and grow our children's ministry at The Gate. Gabe also serves as men's director, leads a small group Bible study and assists with our monthly men's fellowship. They have two wonderful girls Michele and Gabriella.
Sue Whitmore loves teaching and leading people to a relationship with Jesus!
